Attack of the Rock

Well it finally happened. For those of you who have never been to our house we have a quite dangerous rock/fireplace wall in our living room. It was there when we bought the house, but we didn't think too much about just how dangerous it could potentially be because we loved it so much.

Well Ethan is now 1 1/2 years old and I am quite glad to say that we haven't had any trips to the emergency room. With the amount of bruises and bonks on the head that Ethan gets on a daily basis, it is actually a miracle that we haven't visited the ER. Just yesterday, Ethan was playing around the fireplace. He wasn't actually up on it this time like he normally is, but he thought it would be smart to stand on his toy vacuum next to the rock and the vacuum slid out from underneath him and down he went. Resulting in his first cut to the head. It didn't really bleed but it looks cool. Don't freak out grandma & nana. :)

Ouch! That looks like it hurt. I'm glad he's okay. It looks like a lucky number 7. Maybe not so lucky.

That's a scratch. I got 10 stitches in the top of my head from a similar rock fireplace when I was 3 years old.

Just go buy some bright blue trampoline pads and duct tape them over all the sharp edges of the fireplace. Not the most attractive solution, but it'll take care of your problem.

Ouch! Uncle Cody was famous for tangling with the fireplace, too. I'm glad it wasn't too serious!

I swear the kid has rubber skin for the amount of times he has banged his head on the fireplace and this scratch is the worse it has been. crazy!!

Maybe if stopped pushing your kid around things like this wouldn't happen - j/k :)
